A Report on
The Hill Cumorah Expedition Team's
Fund Raiser and Exhibition
A Taste of Cumorah
Feasting on Plates of Gold
Held
Saturday February 18, 2006
4-8 PM at the
Village Heights Community of Christ Church
in Independence, MO
Left: Elrey and his kitchen staff worked hard to
prepare a feast of tacos and chili to feed over 200
visitors and team members.  The dinner and
exposition raised funds for research.
Below: Teresa and Doreen prepare to feed a line of
attendees who braved the single-digit temperatures
for spicy food and a wealth of information
concerning Book of Mormon evidences.
Left: Neil hosted the popular "Plate Room" where
Neil presented information that pertained to the
plates, allowing people to "heft" the weighty items
as was reported by the eight witnesses who held the
plates of Moroni that Joseph used to translate.  This
room also contained artifacts that were of
particular value such as stone jewelry.
Right: A particularly popular room was the "Cave
Room."  This was a presentation of items that are
speculated to be found in the cave where the records
are stored.  The items represented here fall into three
categories: items that are known to be in this cache;
items that may be reasonable to be found here; and
then a category of imagination "what-if" items.
Pictured here are metal plates, codices (codex),
stones with script, and a liahona.
Left: Joseph gives some specific explanation in the
"New Exploration" room.  Listed in this room are
many projects the team feels are important to the
further development of archaeology around the hill
in Mexico.  Many of these projects are peripheral to
the ongoing process of preparing the way for the
time when the plates are finally found.
The exposition was an opportunity to share so much
information that it was difficult to decide how to
convey it all.  The entire foyer was draped in
cardboard to display many pieces of information such
as: "All expedition team members pay for their own
travel, meals, room and board.  All donation funds
are used for archaeological processes to authenticate
and verify artifacts."
Additionally, there were three rooms used for DVD presentations narrated by
Neil Steede and produced by Don Beebe and Tim Cox.  The subject matter for the
three rooms were: New Scripture Room, Script Room (scripts found at
Cumorah), and the War Room (Battlegrounds at Cumorah).  Each presentation
was between 20 to 25 minutes in length and was filled with information.

There was an artifact room that was filled with stone artifacts from different
areas of the continent that speak to the presence of cultured peoples from the
Pre-Columbian Era (before the discovery of the Americas by Christopher
Columbus).  Some of these artifacts are from Michigan and the Kaw River Valley
in Kansas.  Most of the artifacts in the room came from Mexico and fell into the
categories of weapons, food preparation tools, and jewelry.  Some of the items
are pictured below.
While the fund raising aspect did not produce the funds we were hoping for, it
was agreed by all members of the team that we accomplished what God had in
mind with the dissemination of the information we have accumulated thus far.
A big thanks to all who attended, shared our food, donated your time, talent,
and treasure, and supported our efforts in prayer.

If anyone is interested in sponsoring another exhibition, all we need is a
building with several rooms for the many displays we have to share.  All of the
concepts and presentations have already been developed.  We would love to
share with all who want to listen and learn.
           Information for Donations

we ask, donations are greatly appreciated.

Our team has several projects that are in need of your monetary support.
